Located just a short drive away from Bay Pointe,  Manatee Park is a local must-do. This non-captive refuge is the best place in Southwest Florida to see our famous "sea cows" up close in their natural habitat.

Unlike a zoo, these manatees are wild. From December through March, you can often count dozens of manatees huddling together to stay warm. They flock to the park’s canal because the nearby power plant releases clean, warm water—a cozy sanctuary when the Gulf temperatures drop.

To get even closer, you can rent a kayak on-site and paddle out to the Orange River to see these gentle giants glide right beneath your boat.
