Whether you’re a pro angler or just looking to drop a line with the kids, the Caloosahatchee River is the lifeblood of North Fort Myers fishing. Flowing right past our vacation rentals, this massive river is a unique "brackish" playground where freshwater meets the saltwater of the Gulf. This mix creates a diverse habitat where you can catch a largemouth bass and a saltwater snook on the very same lure.
What’s Biting? The river is famous for its "Big Three:

Snook: These powerful fighters love the structures around the bridge pilings.

Tarpon: Known as the "Silver King," these giants migrate through the river, especially in the spring.

Redfish: Often found prowling the mangrove shorelines and grass flats.
The local secret to a successful day is fishing the tide changes around the Caloosahatchee bridges. As the water moves, it flushes baitfish past the pilings, creating a natural feeding frenzy. If you don't have a boat, don't worry—aside from our on-site fishing pier, North Shore Park offers a fantastic fishing pier where you can rub elbows with local experts and pick up a few tips.
Stop by a local bait shop like Kraken Tackle on your way in to grab some live shrimp—it's like candy to almost everything swimming in our river!
